The Acroloop Controller family continues to grow. Currently there are 7 different controllers to suit various needs in the industry.

All of the controllers program identically and use the same firmware set. The main differences between the controllers are performance, features and cost. The ACR8020 is the flagship controller with 150Mhz CPU and has fastest response. All controllers except the ACR1500 have on board Optically Isolated 24Volt logic I/O. A basic summary is as follows.

The Acroloop Controllers are used in a wide variety of single and multi axis applications. The applications for the Acroloop controller family are virtually unlimited due to the flexible design. The main purpose of the controllers is to provide a flexible yet easy to program environment while ensuring the motion profile and digital I/O tasks are executed in real time independent of any operating system or operator station issues.

The Acroloop Controllers are 32/64 bit floating point Multi-tasking DSP based motion controllers. The ACR2000 and ACR1500 are used in applications requiring up to 4 axes of motion control per board and the ACR8020, ACR8010 and, ACR8000 are used in applications requiring up to 8 Axes. The ACR8020 can be expanded further to control 16 axes if required! For low cost 1 or 2 axes standalone applications, the ACR1200 is the ideal solution.

The controllers can perform independent of co-ordinated axis moves including linear, sinusoidal, elliptical, helical, spherical, NURBS and b-spline interpolation in any combination of axes. In addition the user can define up to 8 (16 for the ACR8020) co-ordinate systems for programs (8 motion, 8 non motion and 8 PLC program).

In PC-based applications, the Acroloop motion controllers have the ability to perform the bulk of the calculations for motion control and command the I/O ports, while updating the graphical operator display is left for the PC CPU. This is especially important for Windows based applications where the engineer must insure that the motion and PLC operations are executed in real time.

The ACR8010 is one of the Parker Acroloop feature-packed controllers for ISA PC Bus Operation. The ACR8010 is capable of Standalone or PC-Bus operation. It has the ability to run up to eight servo loops, with up to 10 encoders at 20MHz.

The ACR8020 is Acroloop Motion Control Systems' newest and most feature-packed controller ever for PCI, CPCI PC Bus operation. It has the ability to run 8 Servo Loops (16 with expansion board) DAC or Stepper Outputs and 10 Encoders (20 with expansion board) at 20MHz counting rate.
