The 5xx4 series is a compact, offline solution for velocity and torque control of brushless servomotors. A 3 kHz bandwidth current loop ensures high performance torque control. Carrier Cancellation modulation is employed for zero crossover distortion. For noise sensitive environments, an optional Internal edge filter is available to minimize PWM switching noise.
In velocity mode, various performance levels can be achieved by deriving velocity feedback from the encoder, Halls or motor back-emf. Encoder based velocity loops have a wide speed range with low velocity ripple near zero speed. Halls work well for high speed applications such as spindles. Back-emf feedback is a very cost-effective solution for open-loop speed control.
